Our new goal for 2021

As Elias gets older and the world gets weirder we decided as a family that we would work our hardest to keep things as “normal” as possible. One way we are going to try and do that with Elias is to go on an adventure as a family. We decided to go once a month somewhere we haven’t been and explore. We started that monthly tradition today!

Our first trip was to White Pass. Believe It or not, it was my first time out there too! Eelke had been years ago. It’s a couple hour drive from our house. A beautiful drive I should add! Lots of trees, small towns, with great places to pull off to get scenic views. The roads were great, and clear the whole drive. And I even pulled off to grab a coffee on the way, in one of the many small towns we passed through. Shortly after that we arrived!

The weather stayed really nice. It was cold but sunny. We pulled our wagon in the snow and found a good spot to let Elias out and see what he thought. At first he looked so confused, and not sure what the heck he was in for! He finally started getting a little more comfortable when he realized he could lick the snow. Which was fine, till he was eating his snack and dropped some in the snow. He was so mad that there was snow on this snack.

After seeing all we came to see, and a very tired grumpy Elias, we packed up and headed back home. We knew Elias had a good time because he slept the entire ride home. All in all it was a really good day! I can’t wait till next months adventure!
