How I made an extra $1,000 last year

A couple years ago I downloaded an app a friend had told me about using on my phone to buy and sell. A lot like a modern Ebay. At the time I used it more for shopping for myself. People sell all kinds of things from gifts, to collectables. And that is what I used it for for years before. But, if you are anything like me you don’t throw things away.. and you end up having clothes you don’t wear piling up, home décor that you don’t use any more.. baby items that they have outgrown. All these things are sitting money with the Macari app! Here is a example of my profits and sales.

The app is so easy to use. SO at the beginning of 2021 I made a goal of hitting $1,000 in sales with things I could find around the house that were just taking up space.. and I did just that! I started with some décor that was just collecting dust or shoved in the back of a cabinet. Then I moved to cleaning out my closet. You can sell clothes, shoes, swim, purses!

How easy is the app to use? To make a listing its as easy as opening the app, snapping a couple good photos of your item, enter a description, choose how much you would like for the item (you can always lower the item price later) and decide if you or the buyer will be paying for shipping. After you decide on whos paying shipping you choose what carrier you would like to use to ship your item. Then you are ready to list! One of the nice things about being able to choose the carrier is that you can choose who is closest to you to be able to ship. And they have made it even easier to ship now. You just package your item and bring your phone with you to the post and they scan your given qr code and put the shipping label on for you! When I first started using the app you had to print your own shipping label (which is still an option if you prefer that route). Here is a picture of my current listings.

What sold best for me? Name brand clothing and collectable decor (such as Rae Dunn and vintage items). I also sold some kids bundles where I put together some outfits and listed them together. Another tip is the better the picture the more traffic your item will get. I also will list things on the higher end and will promote or send out offers to likers often. The more you list the more you have the chance of selling. I will say some things will sit on there for months with no attention and then all of a sudden sell. I suggest using good key words in the hashtag section too! For example using name brands that are similar to your item.
