Welcome to our world Elias.

There was a time in my life where I thought I didn’t want kids. I almost pictured myself the “fun aunt” and called it good. But when I met Eelke that all changed. Now, I can’t picture life any other way. Becoming a parent is such a crazy experience. To think that classes aren't required and you're just sent home with this precious life to care for is so wild. I felt so unprepared going into parenthood. Its funny when you first get home and you are so careful, and scared to handle the baby. And in such short time you are balancing the baby on your hip and making dinner like its nothing.

And here we are. One whole year later, already. I keep asking myself how it can seem like yesterday we came home with you, but at the same time feel like you've been part of our lives forever. So cheers to a year of firsts. Reflecting on the past year is an adventure in itself.

Thank you for being such a happy baby. Watching you grow and hit each milestone. Watching you learn and become the little man you are. I love every single minute of being your mom. I must have done something right.
